Best Belts for Handle Shaping

This is the first I have heard of the scalloped j-flex I have not seen them displayed at my favorite belt buying place. So I would like to know what advantage the scalloped belts have over the standard ones.

The scalloped edges will fold around a handle, unlike the sharp ridged edge of a belt that cuts a nice gash into handle causing you to say bad words.:D

Do any of you use zirconium belts for handle shaping? How do they compare to AlOx? I can get them for the same price.

I like the way AO cuts wood and bone, have tried useing ceramics and just ruins a good belt.I use the cheap AO and then just toss them.

I have used the zircs for handle shaping, and not found much difference between them and the AO. However if you end up using them for some steel grinding, the zircs should outlast the AO belts.

I'm happy about this thread. I was not aware of the 1" scalloped belts and now I have a dozen on the way. Thanks, fellas.
