I really want to get a benchmade for edc but i dont know where to start. I would really like to have assisted opening but i could deal without. And i would also like it to be $100 or less. Preferably less.

at that price range, and benchmade......you need to go used for allot more options.

add 20-50 bucks more to your price range, not counting taxes, shipping, etc. and the doors open up for allot more of axis assist and nitrous models. good luck....

Benchmade nitrous stryker or benchmade hk nitrous blitz

Not sure of the model that would suite you best, but if you do want to get a good deal, Knifeworks always gives discounts on Benchmade knives.

I have a nitrous stryker(912) that my oldest brother gifted me for Christmas when is was 17, I'm 24 now and I have beat the tar out of that knife. Its still going strong, no blade play in either direction, and liner lock is still under ~40% or so after 7+ years of use and abuse.
I have really grown to liking their D2, was hard to sharpen at first, but now I know how to sharpen and use a strop. It takes a really mean edge that lasts and lasts. Its really a beast of a knife, its the one that turned me onto quality pocket tools. Should be able to find new at the top of your price range, but you ought to be able to find a nice used example for a bit less.

You could definitely get a good axis assist under $100 I know I can get a brand new mini Barrage for around $85 and full size around $95.

Nitrous Stryker is excellent knife both regular and mini versions. Surprisingly lite and very compact - great choice for EDC. I would also look at Harley Davidson Nitrous - 13710. Apparition is also very nice. Barrage and Torrent - also worth looking at. Can not miss actually.

The Torrent is a very good light-to-medium duty knife -- almost a gentleman's knife except that it's a bit larger than most knives described as such. You should be able to get it for right around $100 shipped from GP.

For heavy duty use, take the stryker.
Otherwise, the torrent makes an excellent choice as an edc.

I just got their price quote on the stryker...I'm so ordering one today..awesome...

Thanks!

Excellent choice!! the Stryker is a much better knife IMO than the Barrage, slimmer in the pocket,G10 D2 steel

Well, I ordered and it came in just under the OP's price point- including shipping. Nice!
