Best blade color with Black Canvas Micarta

Black canvas micarta with a black blade was the Busse standard for a long time, and is still one of my favorites.

I think Black Canvas looks good with most of the blade finishes. My group consists of Tanker, Sage, and naked Infi mostly.

I got my NMFSH DC with Black Micarta...Loved it...and I got the Desert Sage with Black Micarta, didnt really liked it...it´ll be up for trades or sale in a week I believe...I´m giving it two weeks to the idea to simmer, aparently I made the wrong choice... would be nice to involve a HOGFSH on the business.

Thanks for all the input so far!

Among the coated/paint colors with Black Canvas, Sage and Tanker seem to be the favorites, with several fans of Arctic White and Jungle Green (which I think looks great with Black G10). Satin and Double Cut look good with anything, of course, but are more expensive and don't offer quite the same level of protection.

I'm in this camp. Black canvas on black is classic Busse. I do wish the old smooth coat was still available, I love the look of it. Double Cut, satin, and sage are nice with BCM as well. I do prefer the older micarta with the defined green and black layers to the newer batches. Actually, I might just have a thing for old Busses, so take this with a grain of salt

Jungle Green is still offered. Someone posted a Jungle Green NMFSH with orange/black G10 handles in the NMFSH pics thread.

Me too, and it is still available on the TGLB anyway. I'm looking at that right now on the Busse Combat site. I think the black canvas looks great with black and sage, but better with the OD.

Thanks. For some reason I was thinking they had quit using it for a while. Looks great with Black Canvas IMO.

On the site the Jungle Green looks to be a little more brighter green than the OD. I wonder if thats why they changed the name, or is it just the image on the site that looks to be a little different???

edit- I just looked at the one in the NMFSH thread, and the Jungle has the crinkle look, and the old OD had none, and was vert flat.
The new Tanker Grey appears to have more of a crinkle look as well. I like the flat look better myself.

The jungle green is definitely brighter than OD, but it is pretty smooth and definitely does not have the "crinkle" texture that some of the other finishes have. The "new" Tanker Grey, while not as smooth as the "old" Tanker or Jungle Green, is still pretty smooth. Here's a pic of the NMFSH I was tlking about:

And my Chopweiler in JG as well:

All the Jungle Green I've ever seen is pretty smooth.

There is no "best", color is subjective.

If I had to give you an answer on what looks the best with black canvas I's say bare steel, no coating.
