Who packs the most blade into a handle? I'm thinking DDR did pretty good with his Maxx.

of the knives i own, probably the police 3 and sebenza have the best blade-handle ratio.

Yup, double edged and waved.

The Spyderco Barong is very compact for a 4" blade, with just enough real estate for my large size hands to fit nicely in the handle. With a Krein regrind the Barong is just a great knife.

Spyderco Police was designed to have as much blade in the handle as possible, very nice job they did too.

I prefer the ratio found on the Military and the Paramilitary, but that's just me. ;)

the cold steel pro lite feels amazing in my hands. big blade, and perfect sized handle. i have been able to score two of them off ebay so far.

Yup on DDR!
Almost anything Emerson.

What? I would think Emerson ranks as one of the worst. Look at the blade/handle relationship on the Commander and CQC 7 just as examples. There is a lot more handle than there is blade.

The Para is my least favorite Spyderco just because the blade is so much shorter than the handle.

That's why it's one of my favorites. The larger handle offers much improved control over the smaller blade. Leaving that much tang in the handles also improves the strength of the pivot area. YMMV.

You're absolutely right about increasing the strength of the pivot area, but for my small hands there's a whole lot of G10 hanging over the back.

Benchmade Skirmish seems to offer quite a wallop, similar size handle as a commander but the blade definitely gets some looks when opened..
