Best Bronze?

Hi Everyone,

I'm going to be purchasing some Bronze in the near future for guards and other knife fittings. What alloy should I be looking for in my Bronze? Silicon? Aluminum? Others?

Silicon bronze would be my choice. Readily available ,good color. Color is a consideration.

I intend on drilling and fileing slots for the guards and tincturing with a dremel.

Probably silicon bronze would be your best bet then, if you were going to cast I would use traditional copper/tin bronze

And for a source, alpha knife supply has mostly silicon bronze in their inventory :thumbup:

Have you seen this supplier, http://www.atlasmetal.com/silicon-bronze.php? They seem to have most stock you'd want.

I have seen that supplier. They have a nice variety of all sorts of bronze.... No prices though.... I think they want you to call and get a price quote. I hope they don't want me to buy a truck load?
