Let's combine 3 overused knife terms and see what we come up with. If you had to
- Make a shelter
- Build a fire
- Make a figure 4 trap
- Shank a fool
- etc.

Of the knives you currently own, which knife would you choose?

I think I'm going with the lowly True Flight Thrower on this. It is bombproof.

I have dozens and dozens of knives that can do any and all of those things.

Is this another "you can only choose one" thing???

Here is just a very small sampling of what I own....YOU pick one, they'll all do the job....

I've never actually tried to do wood carving with a knife over 7". I should give it a try.

Not ideal, but far from impossible. I didn't realize your request was weighted more towards making little wooden figurines. :)

Whittling doesn't come to mind when you use words like "tactical", "survival", "shanking", "shelter", "fire", etc.

Do you want me to change my BK9 pick???

I was thinking tent stakes and spoons.

I like your collection of big fixed blades. Hard to pick just one indeed.

I like the looks of that SP1. That and the Ka-bar would be tops on my list for BST
Thanks, I even like the way the coating wears on this one!
I always recommend the SP series to people who want a rugged, USA-made knife like a KABAR but find them a bit expensive. They have a bit of a thick edge but that's no issue given the harder use title, and sharpens up easy.

Realistically, all my bigger Knives would do. BK7 and BK9 would be great contenders. Also the Ontario SP1 and to a degree the SP6, as well as a Kailash Plain Jane.

However, the one missing, and excel at every task would be a BK2L (non existent) --> A BK2 with an 8" Blade... One can but dream :)
