Best budget knife for EDC?

And if you decide your budget is just a bit more - ANYTHING Emerson!!!!! EKI makes a couple great flippers too.

Ditto the buck suggestions. I think you can get the vantage pro in the $60 or so range. A definite step up in steel and a simply great blade.

I prefer around a 4inch blade, flipper, and if possible a tanto style as well

Gonna be a little tough snagging a 4inch bladed EDC folder, but otherwise, the Kershaw Link tanto meets most all of your requirements. Except for a thinner handle than your current CRKT M-16 10z folder. Its handle thickness is beefier. American made, comes in under budget, and you get your choice between aluminum or GFN scales.

Good luck with your search!

Only problem there is that it is triple my budget and then some

Nah dog, do it!!!! It doesn't hurt to have a dream knife!

Back in reality though, maybe you should look at the Kershaw Emerson 4kXL. Better than that is the waved Endura or Delica but those are slighty above your price range. You have to decide how long a blade you want. Knives under 60$ with blades 4 inches and up are few and far between. There might be some Cold Steel models that would fit the bill for you.

Good luck man. Make sure to post us pictures of whatever you decide to get.

Hey man thanks a lot! I might have to do this forum thing more often

Buy a Cold Steel Recon 1 or Voyager large with AUS8A steel. Forget about flippers (I wont buy any flipper under $50).

I've been very impressed with the RAT 2, especially at its price point. Fit/finish are good, the action is really smooth, and lockup is solid. It's not a Sebenza but it costs a small fraction of one and it's a perfectly functional knife. I got this one on the Exchange for $45 including custom scales and a custom deep-carry pocket clip.

Edit:
I missed this but the Ontario RATs are still great values.

4 ince full Titanium handles, S35VN blade and tanto, but not flipper.

3.75 ince blade, full Titanium handles, S35VN blade, flipper, but a little over your budget.

These knives are going to be much much better than anything kershaw has to offer.

I would suggest you might not want to because the more you "forum" it, the more knowledge you will gain and realize that there are TONS of knives outside your budget that is doing it's siren call. Once you heed it, you will never leave because it's a whole new world.

So yes, do stay away. Don't come back. Don't learn more about the beautiful sharp metal objects. ;)

P.s. The knives we have been suggesting to you at such a low budget point are merely gateway knives. Once you start buying the gateway knives, it's the beginning of the end.

Oh trust me, I am aware. I own multiple fixed blades that are upwards of 200$

Cold steel comes to mind, Recon 1 is fantastic but a bit over your price range. If you have no morals Ganzo is a fine choice, but if I only had 60 Dollars to spend on a blade my money would got to a buck vantage large. Nice ergonomics, under 40 dollars, sandvick steel great blade shape, Its a solid flipper and could be dressed up or dressed down. It can fill a military role or civilian role nicely. Blade is 3.5 inches if i remember correctly. With your remaining 20 get a sharpening stone and some oil to maintain it.

Doesn't fit all your requirements but easily the best bang for the buck is an Ontario Rat model 1 in D2. I'd buy one and put the other $20-30 towards starting a savings for a dream knife. If edge retention is something ur concerned with this is EASILY ur best bet for the $$.

Cold Steel Recon 1 would fit most ur requirements but does not have the fun factor of a flipper.

Maybe a Kershaw Knockout, heck I got a translucent blue Spyderco Manix 2 LW I might part with... lol, shameless plug sorry :p
