best camp knife

yeah, i think its official, rc-4 with an izula if my poor college student budget can afford it, but hey, whats an extra 50 bucks to an awesome blade! is there any real advantage to getting the rc-4 with the serration?

and the rc-6 and even the 5 look like awesome knives, but much of my camping is lightweight backpacking, and though i hate to sacrifice weight on tools, i think the rc-4 looks like the perfect size and weight.

i dont see what the hest could tackle that the rc4 couldnt but i could see it vice versa! i love my rc4 and i know you would to. Basically its which will u get FIRST. you will want them all eventually!

I suppose unless the hollow handles on the HEST are something you find awesome then the RC4 seems awesome - its practically endorsed by 3/4 of RAT forum members

I think the big advantage of the RC-4 over the HEST for camping is blade size. It gives you several more options (batoning is one).

While the HEST is a fine tool, IMHO it is better suited to an EDC type blade. It is just small enough to carry and big enough to get almost any survival job done.
