hey,
i just made a thread about getting a new beater knife, but that was before i earned some more money, now its 4 to 5 inch fixed blade thats tough as can be for up to 150.

I would suggest you look at the ESEE line of knives. Great customer service and the absolute best warranty in the business.

ESEE 5, KaBar/Becker BK2 or talk to a couple of the makers on the forum.

ESEE knives. Either their ESEE5 or the ESEE4. the ESEE 5 is high saber ground and 1/4 inch thick. A very tough tank of a knife.

The ESEE 4 is more compact, 3/16 inch thick full flat grind. Plus it comes with an utterly fantastic sheath system. In order to improve the cutting performance on mine I convexed the edge. A very tough compact knife.

Both are 1095 steel with Rowens superb heat treat.

Plus they come with one of the most exceptional warranties in the business.

go to the swamp rat forum, read the ganzaa thread and then order an HRLM.

I forgot the Ganza was still open on Swamprat knives. I picked up one of the Ratmandus off the Ganza. It is a great knife in the 5" blade range, the HRLM is in the 4"blade size.

The Ratmandu is a fantastic knife. SR101 steel (52100) takes a great edge and is exceptionaly tough to boot.

Bark River Bravo-1, a great camp knife designed by the military (USMC Force Recon).

The Bravo-1 is a great blade, as is any ESEE, and I'd say check out the Swamp Rat Howling rat and ratmandu - all excellent knives - choose what you like the most.

Also look in the exchange for a Scrap yard scrapper 5
