Best Camping/Survival knives under 100?

Consider Becker. BK2 is my favorite camp knife by a long shot.

Beckerhead #42

I second the BK2

The Boker Vox Rold sheath is kydex (comes with Teklok) and comes a bit tight, but it'll adjust easily. I'd rather have the sheath come tight than loose. Handles are scaled G-10. Balance feels excellent. Jesper Voxnaes did an excellent job on the design. I've noticed that not many have this knife; not sure why. It's a damn good knife.

IMO Some of the best are Esse 4, Scrapyard 411, Scrap Yard 511, Becker Tweener Series, Sog Seal Pup Elite, Sog NW Ranger, BK-7, BK-10,

My favorite of all of these is probably the Esee 4.

I'm thinking you want a chopper of some sort even though it is not really needed. There is always the next trip. My suggestion is the Kabar Becker BK-2 for a heavy modest length knife that can do some chopping. Add in a Condor Kephart for a finese knife at about $30 with sheath. That pretty much eats the $100.

I just got the Kephart today and have been fondling it. I am quite pleased over all and have given it a better edge. It is about all you need for a basic hunting knife and would be very easy to use for cooking and around the camp.

I was comparing it to the Kabar Becker B-16 which is a also really nice blade, but I think you want something a bit beefier for a "large" camp knife. Hence my suggestion for the BK-2 even though I don't often carry it because of the weight.

Some have suggested the Condor Hudson Bay. I like this knife a lot, but I can't see myself doing a lot of chopping with it. It would work for this chore for limited chopping, but I would rather have the BK-2. The price on the Hudson Bay is right however for a woods knife if you lean toward the larger blades.

I say get 2. Definitely get the Mora I like the high Q all around in stainless. Get that along with Esee 4. I like to follow the rule of three. I would have one large blade such as a 14" tramontina bolo machete along with the Esee as my main knife and the mora as a backup. Or use the mora as the main knife due to its light weight and if by happen chance you break it, You Wont. You will have the Esee which is way more durable as a backup. However that tramontina machete and the mora will do anything you need to do in camp outside processing loads of lumber.
