I work for a nonprofit that is very good and has a low overhead rate. Plus they have hundreds of staff already in Haiti, so your money isn't used for airlifting lots of people into the county. That said, there are lots of good nonprofits out there. I would tend to go with the larger ones, since they have the infrastructure to quickly respond to the crisis on a sufficiently large scale.
