To add my 2 cents. Everyone is right when it comes to Kershaw. I personally love em especially for the price. I have owned several leeks, a shallot and just this monday was delivered my cryo 2.
I'll say this. It depends on why you edc. As much as I have LOVED my leek because of the fine pin point if you use it for the wrong purpose YOU WILL BREAK OFF THE TIP. No hard application with this one at all. I lost one, gave one as a gift and broke another. I do intend on buying 2 more (one for my wife and one just because). The leek is one of those knives you just buy. Dont think about it...just buy it (especially since you can find em as low as $35).
The shallot is good as well. I like the blade, feels great in hand. Easy.
Now...the cryo. I just got the cryo 2 monday. I will say this. I have about 20 or so knives in my collection right now. I have never owned one that feels like this thing. It feels like a tank in a good and bad way. Good-you feel like this thing can cut through heaven and earth. It feels like a knife that is 5x the price. Solid as hell, great design, great color. The assist is very tight at first, unlike any other kershaw I have owned or handled. Closing it is different than other kershaws as well as far as tension. Not bad just different.
Bad-first time in hand...it does feel heavy (well it is heavy). I got used to it after playing with it for about a day. For me it is a bit wide both closed and open. Not a deal breaker however I wish it was narrower or had a finger groove or 2 in the handle to spite the solid lines. I debated getting the cryo instead of the 2 and as soon as I got the 2 I was like, I want the cryo also because this might be too big for everyday. I will probably use the 2 more so for hard work and carry the cryo for regular use and self defense. I dont regret getting one and wanting the other...This is the first knife where I really wanted both sizes and assign them different tasks.
Best of all...you can find both online for less than $35 shipped so its really a no brainer.
Sorry for being long winded but I am just giving my account. $30-40 bucks is nothing for a kershaw. I would buy em if they were more but are glad that they are less.
