My rural county luckily has no cases so far, but the whole thing is effecting everyone in one way or another.
From the TP shortage to a lot of stores really just running low on many things.
My minor setbacks and inconveniences however are nothing compared to what the people who have or may have the virus are going through.
Not to mention the people and families of people who have died from the virus.

But really these whole one knife for the zombie apocalypse threads are a dime a dozen.
I have over 50 knives right now not including my kitchen cutlery and the axes and machetes in my garage, they would not magically disappear just because it's some kind of apocalypse and I would grab whatever I needed whenever I needed it.
 
Zombie threads usually don't do well. But I recommend a smatchet.

Same knife as all the other hundreds of fantasy scenario knife threads that have been posted over the years. Difference is, this is a real situation with no zombies and people are actually dying all over the country. Hope you and all your loved ones stay a alive, and knives will have zero impact on that.
 
I will have a Swiss Army Alox Pioneer, same as if there was a COVID-19 or not. A good EDC no matter what day it is. I take the virus thing seriously, this thread I do not. It may be even in bad taste. I think people are looking to keep their minds off the seriousness of the virus. Have hope, we will come out of this, and be there to help others stay positive and their spirits up...you can still send messages while practicing social distancing, call someone to say hello, or email them to let others know you are okay and care about them. While we are limited to what we can do, and we should do whatever we can, we can have a choice how we handle the situation.

I totally agree!!! The people that find this thread amusing obviously haven’t been impacted by COVID-19.

I'm sure the family of they guy who just died in my county would find it fun to consider him coming back from the dead! Oh wait, his Mom and Sister also died. Oh double wait, his other siblings are now in the hospital too. Let's share this amusing thread with them!

As I noted above, to me the real zombies are the ones reacting to the media hype, not the ones who are succumbing to the disease.

Yeah the folks that like to imagine that this virus escaped from a secret biowar weapons lab etc. They've definitely lost their minds to media hype.

Also, well beyond the virus, the hype is causing real harm. I was scheduled for cancer surgery...postponed due to corona, a co-worker was involved in a serious car accident and is unable to get a permanent cast on her broken arm, her doctor is postponing due to corona virus; I know people who have had issues with dentures, eye glasses, some with serious unrelated medical conditions who are unable or afraid to go to a hospital for treatment for fear of getting corona virus. That's just the surface of this thing, the financial and economic hit has been severe and unprecedented.

So yes, media hype kills, and it is likely to be much deadlier than the virus.

So you..er..wanted to go to a hospital that's housing Covid-19 patients? Not to mention considering the transmission rate scheduling you for surgery could be construed as medical malpractice were you to get it while there under Doctors orders. Cancer, as horrid as it is,usually moves slowly if it's in the operative stage, this thing moves fast. Then there's your body, already fighting cancer, now fighting Covid? I have sympathy for your plight but the last thing you need is two serious illnesses.

the hype is the problem considering this virus is far less lethal than the flu and it's treatable...the truly frightening thing is this is a precursor to something far more sinister that certain experts have been warning about for years. we've been over using antibiotics on humans and livestock for how long now breeding who knows what superbug....this covid-19 is nothing... the survival rate far exceeds the kill rate...this is a warning of an actual problem that's to come...at some point and probably not too distant will be an actual killer with no treatment and it won't matter age, health condition or any of it you'll just be dead...everyone wants to spaz about this over glorified cold failing to acknowledge that this is the warning shot before a real problem hits the human species...eh but nobody is listening they haven't been...its inevitable tick tock
 
um, covid 19 is far MORE lethal than the flu, and those complications are not treatable - not in any fundamental way

death rate for flu is about 0.1%, while even conservative rates of death for covid19 are 10 times higher (1%+... and for 70-79 year olds its like 8%, and 14% for 80+ years)
