Been looking at my CRKTs lately and I was wondering what do you think is the best knife CRKT has ever come up with. Design, quality, edge geometry, and just plain usefulness. Mine in order;
Apache II in ATS 34
Lightfoot M1
Carson M21-12.
What say you?

Carson M16-14T

My "go to" knife for most things.

I have 15 CRKTs, would you believe I have never even seen a full size M16 up close? Do they even make the good ones anymore?

my favorite crkt's

carson m4
hissatsu folder
m21 AUS8 with aluminum handles
bear claw

I only have my M-21 14 with aluminum handles and I edc it everyday that I dont have my bradley mayhem.

my favorite was also my first, hammond mirage, aus 8 steel with delrin scales, plain edge, the large one. absolutely great knife for the money.

I don't own a lot of CRKT knives, and none of the M models, so my opinion is not an expert's. But of the ones I own, the best is the Mirage followed by the Sting, followed by the Stiff KISS.

I don't own any crkt's so my opinion should be taken lightly, but these have always struck a chord with me:

I'd have to say the BEST CRKT I've seen, owned, etc., has to be the S2 (4-incher). Although I've really liked the M21-04, I just haven't trusted the heat treat of their steels lately (see thread on CRKT hardness issue). The S2 has an ATS-34 blade and a beautiful titanium framelock handle. My own experience with the edge retention is that it's exceptional. Very UNDERRATED knife in my own opinion.

I am very fond of my CRKT M16-14FK and also have a well used M16-03Z. Really like both alot!!!

I used an M16-03Z every day for YEARS before i really got interested in sharp things. It was nice at first but gradually just got sort of loose and floppy and worn out. Still, a GREAT design- love the Carson Flipper, etc.

This is currently my only CRKT as i traded the M16 to someone recently. It's also my personal favorite, one I've wanted for a while - the one i picked out of the catalog when i got the 03Z long ago.

I rather like the M-16's.

I guess because they were dedigned by my firend HJ Carson.

I do wish they would use a better blade steel. I think I'll replace one of the blades with 154-CMP and see how it does. I like the titanium scales.

If you want an upscale version of the M16, get a Darrell Ralph. He makes several models that are in the spirt of the M16, but you can get it with S30V, CPM154, ti frame-lock, DLC, etc. No LAWKS though, unfortunately, but on the other hand CRKT doesn't offer their knives with pivot bearing like Darrell does.

I'd have to agree, although I prefer the large one (I believe I measured it at 4 7/8" closed with a 3 5/8" blade). The med. model wasn't bad, but for some reason my lg. just seemed better made. The other CRKT I really like, but didn't keep, was the VooDoo. Not a bad A/O with 154CM blade. I also like the KISS & stiff KISS (I have a stiff KISS tanto & the multi colored folding KISS).

Aside from those, I would think the M-14, M-16, & M-21s are their most popular.

the best design in a folder is the kasper, the best folder is imho the M16 ti.

best fixed blade (design & execution) is the companion.
