Best cutter?

This is totally subjective, but what knife is your best (or at least, favorite) cutter? I don't know whether it's the blade design/edge geometry, the steel, the heat treat or some other factor, but of the three dozen or so knives I own, my Dozier K1 simply seems to cut better than any of the others.

It's going to be a combination of a lot of things.

Thin blade geometry that is thin behind the edge with a good steel at the proper angle along with design will all have large impact on performance.

Of the knives I have, if I want pure cutting, i.e. slicing, I would go with my Spyderco Perrin PPT. It has a flat ground blade of S30V, and is a wharncliffe style blade.

That pocket clip looks super hot. How do you like it?

Different cutters for different purposes & seasons here:

Kitchen: In the kitchen, the A.G. Russell kitchen knife works best, with an Opinel #8 for smaller chores. A large Boker Arbolito Sodbuster that Blues (over in the Traditional Forum) sent me a couple years ago gets a lot of use during the strawberry season.

Hard use: Spyderco Endura 4.

Opinel.

with a few minutes on the sharpmaker it can go from dull, to sharper than most people have ever seen (excluding knife nuts of course) and even if it gets a bit duller, it cuts through some material better than say, a razor sharp military, because it is so thin.

So, mine would be Opinel, Mora (that scandi grind, even with a rough grit, just glides through everything) and Spyderco Centofante 4.

edit: oh, and my Case swaybackjack CV

Best Cutter I own, .006" behind the edge (Thin as Printer Paper), it falls through what I am cutting.
