And try what you saw in that video with a $30 folder and see what happens.
Some dirt would be broken up and some small roots would be cut. That is seriously not a test of strength or toughness. You think a Buck 110 couldn't do that?
 
I honestly wouldn't expect it, on just about any production knife. I've dug in dirt, scraped against metal, cut filthy rope, cardboard, etc. Every knife has needed to be resharpened, no matter the selling price, but none have significant chipping until I cut through metal. The blade is still made of steel, regardless of fit & finish. Heat treat is critical, but the lowly 110 has Paul Bos getting that done.
