Best EDC for under $50 ?

Thanks I will look into it, I carry a BK24 (D2) just about daily, stropped fresh off a coarse dmt.

Coarse D2 is a peculiar (but functional) animal.

Edit to add: D2 models are not currently available with G10 slabs.

Ontario Rat 1.. no doubt about it.... superior than any kershaw in the same price range... you can also check Ganzo knives..

I gotta go with the RealSteel H6 or RealSteel H6-S1 depending on your desired blade size. I used to give the nod to the RATs in this category, but he H6 knives blow them out of the water.

Best EDC type knife (which is to say a non-specific task, general purpose cutting tool) at any price-point is a Victorinox SAK, imo. If you don't need a locking one-hander, the sheer utility of a SAK is pretty hard to beat. Personally, I like to carry a Vic Rambler on my keychain and an alox Pioneer...

Good luck, OP! :)

Totally different style but you are in Nova Scotia? Check out Grohmann knives...head down to the factory outlet in Nova Sctoia and you can find great deals on seconds. They have a very nice Mini Lockblade for 40 bucks right now and regular $80. That's a great deal...probably just a little imperfection in the wood. But you can check it out in hand! They make fantastic knives that are world renown and you can support a local business. Good luck what ever you choose!

Picked up one of these in Toronto last week...very nice little knife! Have not really used it yet...but certainly well made and decent value for the $ and being made in Canada...
Will eventually visit their factory, but quite a distance from Toronto....

The Ontario Rats are great knives, can't go wrong...but also consider the ESEE Avispa & Zancudo, similar knives with a slightly slimmer profile.

Nice! A factory second for $40 is very hard to beat...and they make the best filleting knives around!
I have never been to the factory either but you can get seconds for %50 on their website.

And I'm not sure if the OP is asking for a $50 knife recommendation in American or Canadian currency but it's something they should consider.
$50 American=$65 Canadian
$50 Canadian= ~$40 American

That Mini Lockback is a heck of a deal for a quality knife at 40 Canadian or about $30 American!

Spyderco Delica can be found for under $50 on a certain auction site. Ontario rat 1 us more utilitarian and the Ontario Utilitac is more tactical. Personal preference there. Kershaw blur is great. Especially deassisted

I'd be very very reluctant to offer the advice to look up a Delica on FleaBay. Waaaaay too much likelihood of getting a fake.
