Best EDC knife for under $200 ???

Benchmade 940 or 943, I prefer the 943 for the MCP blade... your mileage will indeed vary.
 
Spyderco Military. To me, a perfect overall size and blade length. Wonderfully slim profile, great handle, and nice weight. The blade profile and steel are excellent. Aside from the pocket clip, which seems to have a tendency to snag on things when I pass too close, this knife is very near to perfection for me. I think you'd like it quite well.
 
Three of my choices - all Benchmades with MSRP's of $229-$235 - certainly available for <$200/each by mail order. Top down - 581 Barrage in G10/Al handle - assisted opening with AXIS lock. Next is the 755 MPR, a Ti/G10 framelock - and my most common EDC since it came home. The bottom choice is a 480-1 Shoki - great dressup carry knife with CF/Ti construction. All three have M390 steel blades.
