I want a nice EDC knife preferably less than 3.5in (3in is fine ) I have a leek and don't like the blade shape (broken 2) i have been eyeing the Random leek..my choices are not set in stone but i want knife i can use everyday cutting boxes, paper ,rope ,etc and is decently thin and light and can take abuse

i could go for a benchmade but i havent really seen a thin benchmade i own a nitrous stryker and a hk nitrous blitz and i took them out of pocket after a few days i think i prefer drop point and spear point blades help me out guys i know you all know your stuff ive been searching the net for 2 days now and my brain hurts..

BTW i have no preference to flipper or assisted opening i don't mind either ... i will take quality over opening method

im not a fan of the larger handled kershaw blur ,cyclone. rake, jyd etc....

Spyderco Paramilitary 2. It sits just under 3.5" and is an excellent lightweight carry. I'd suggest trying to snag a pre-order on the CTS-20CP version, as the edge retention should be similar to S90V. Price is also just under $150:thumbup:.

And remember, it's popular for a reason:D.

Won't compare to how light my S90V Para2 is in Carbon Fiber, but it ought to do.

Gonna go with the 940 here with the reverse tanto. Useful for almost all types of tasks. I would consider it a light-medium work use knife.

Now if you want a delicate, precision work knife, go with the 943 (clip point blade). I would consider this one a light work use knife.

spyderco sage 1/2

spyderco lum chinese

benchmade mini grip

crk sebenza s/l

crkt full throttle (kind of heavy)

any opinions of this M21 G10 Folder - Designed by Kit Carson

I like the design of these knives, and picked one up for use around the house.

It was decent, but did not hold up under daily use for more than 6 or so months. The steel was decent, but not stellar edge holding. The pivot needed tightening up on occasion (but the design makes that simple enough).

I ended up gifting it to a friend who was going to Colorado on a dig and needed a beater.

It is a pity that the Stryker is too thik for you - a very nice knife from my point of view.
I would recommend Delica with zdp189. I would actually recommend Endura, but considering your size preferences Delica would be a better fit.
Spyderco Caly or Stretch could be a nice choice as well. Though that is my guess - I do not own one as yet.
Spyderco Ti-Mag is a lot of fun. But it does not have a proper lock as such...

+1 on Benchmade 940. Thin, light, and very functional. (The 943 is pointier and looks cooler IMO but more susceptible to breakage.)

i LOVE my Nitrous stryker spear point!! if it was a little bit thinner it would be my EDC

my dream knife is a spear point knife with handles like a tini leek

this is close new Aluminum handled and AUS-8 steel (better than the G10 model) the dealbreaker is the clip placement on the aluminum is much lower and more of the knife sticks out

my dream would be a spear pointed hk or benchmade with aluminum handles (thinner) either flipper or A/O

Try a Seki Cut knife, I like the Folding Katana:

Got to handle one of these at a gun show, real solid, was nice! The laminated VG-10 blade is both good at holding a good edge and being both tough and sturdy. This company often makes knives for spyderco and sog.

Can be had for a little over 100$
