Best EDC knife under $150 (real use)

I would say get a spyderco delica FFG. The standard VG10 steel has great wear resistance compared to other baseline steels, it's easy to sharpen, awesome for edc use. I carry a g10 version which is a little more stout feeling in the pocket.

If you can pick up a Manix 2 FFG, thats another good choice. Almost any of spyderco's FFG blades are fantastic slicers and edc options.

The para 2 is a little thick, but like noctis said about the S90V CF one: "its nice and light" and it has a super blade. The s30v is just like the previous...both are awesome folders. :)

You would probably really like a spyderco sage. plus then you get s30v and a nice carbon fiber handle. it is one of the best edc blades I have used....aside from my partiality to the g10 delica. :)

the spyderco centofante 3 and 4 are awesome EDC knives. they are very light, and razor sharp due to the thin blade. they are excellent slicers and great for general tasks at work, and they really dont cost much.

the spyderco native series is also a great work knife for similar reasons, its strong but light.

as for benchmade i find that the mini-griptilian makes for a great edc work knife, its small light and easy to open and close.

benchmade also makes the 530, i think its their slimmest knife, this too is good for light EDC work. i think its priced at below 100.

I'd go for a 940. Excellent knife for utility tasks. Super cool blade with reinforced tip, good belly, and some cool aesthetics!

Benchmade 480-1 Shoki or the mini-griptilian, both in M390. The steel holds an edge longer than CPM-M4 and is exceptionally tough as Ankerson found out:D.

centofonte 3 is the only spyderco i like i really dont care for spyderco at all i dont like the big hole in the blade i find it hideous

im thinking maybe a kershaw NRG black combo blade or a random leek combo s30v

Nice pics in this thread...

I'm looking to buy my first Spyderco for EDC. I looks like the Delica FFG and Sage 1 or 3 look like a great place to start.

Is there anything the Delica will do 'better' than the Sage? I'm aware of the price difference, but don't mind paying for smoother action and better F/F.

I like g10 a lot, the grippiness is really nice. The sage, since it is a liner-lock and not a back lock has a smoother action...the back lock seems stronger though. I find that the g10 version is a little bit stronger of a back lock. partly due to full SS liners? The FRN FFGs are a little smoother and lighter.
F/F are great on both blades, it just comes down to a preference thing.

I love Spydercos as edcs because they just seem to work well...look up thecajunblaze 's video on youtube about "sage as EDC" it really shows some of the speed and just general usefulness that that blade has.

I know this is your thread, but you will probably grow to love the opening hole if you bought one...Kershaws are good too though. Choose what you like and don't let anyone tell you you're wrong...different strokes for different folks. :)
