Best EDC Knife?

I have been looking for a good knife to carry everyday. My Swiss Champ is good for most tasks but I need a better knife , not just a jack of all trades. I've asked my peers and they have been suggesting Chris Reeve Sebenzas to Spyderco Tenaciouses. I would like to ask, what do YOU think the ideal EDC knife would be?

(Yes I know , this is subjective)

The new Spyderco Native 5 LightWeight in FRN. If you want larger go with the Spyderco Military. High End Large CRK Sebenza.

If you are looking at new models (2014) there are some great releases based on preference. The Native 5 FRN looks great and it's on my list.

The Manix2 LW in S110v for people that like larger, with great steel and still light enough for EDC.

The Sage 3 in carbon rounds out the spyderco favorites for me.

The upgraded Ritter Mini Griptilian in m390 steel is awesome for edc. Lightweight, good shape, great steel and a reasonable price. It's even better with custom scales.

I think it depends on preference more than everything. What do you do with your knives and what do you wear every day? If you are a work boots, jeans and coat guy the answer is different than khakis and sneakers.

If it is carried often and used to open letters the suggestion is different than if you spend your days on a farm cutting cord.

Maybe not ideal but for the price point... the Emerson/Kershaw collabs look very nice with the wave feature and a good design, not the best just a good option for around 30$

Best new EDC blade for 2014 is probably the Spyderco Manix 2 LW or Benchmade Ritter Griptillian in m390.

I have carried a XM18 and my Domino most this year. But I am a whore and carry like 10 knives on a regular basis.

Why it's the CRKT Hi Jinx, of course. Otherwise it wouldn't have won the 2014 Blade Show Best Knife of the Year Award, right?

Seriously, "subjective" covers it. For me it's the ZT 0770CF. It's the only folder ZT has produced that doesn't belong in what I refer to as the "pocket brick" category. You can call the 0770CF a lot of things, but regardless of what it says on the box, "overbuilt" isn't one of them. ;)

That 0770CF Has impressed me. Have to say it's surprisingly tough for it's weight. Have put mine through a lot in the last three months and it's holding up great.
Cheers

Love my 0770cf. Just wish she was on bearings!

Spyderco Delica 4 FFG. It ain't new but it's still a great EDC blade. Affordable, light weight, good steel that holds a decent edge and sharpens easily, good grip, good ergos, easy deployment, solid lock, great slicer, large enough for most EDC tasks yet small enough to be legal in most places and usually won't scare the sheeple.

The Spyderco Delica 4 FFG (fairly inexpensive)
The Spyderco Dragonfly
The Spyderco Chaparral
The Spyderco Cat (nice knife and inexpensive)
The Benchmade 707

For a small lock blade:

- Spyderco Delica 4
- Kershaw Leek

For Larger Knife:

- Benchmade griptillian
- Spyderco tenacious

For Multi Tool:
- Leatherman Juice
- Victorinox alox cadet

Benchmade 940-1 and the zt 0770 c.f. are two of my favorites, I also like my spyderco urban and g10 ukpk.

I rotate several different pocket knives. But the two that are there most often, are a large trapper, and a laguiole.

Spyderco: Persistence, Delica 4 or a Sage 1 if you are looking for a folder.

Becker BK14 or ESSE Candiru if you are looking for a good fixed blade.

Blasphemy! Off with his head! How dare you suggest that a ZT folder doesn't need to weigh north of 5 ounces to hold up to the rigors of hard day-to-day use? Get thee forthwith to W&C so I can have my way with you!!! ;) :D
