Well, after looking into the knife carry laws of NC, and some great info from a board member, it seems like the types of knives I can legally carry in my pocket are a very small percentage of the knives out there.
The only knife I can carry concealed is a pocket knife, 3" or less blade I interpret it to mean; it may not be opened by a throwing/explosive/spring action...which may (or may not) mean that a flipper or a thumbstud knife is illegal.
I loved the look, feel, and 'action' of the Cryo but that may be illegal (flipper and thumbstud). Then I thought about the Rat II but it may be illegal (thumbstuds). But I definitely don't want just a plain ol' knife...so now I'm at a loss at what type of knife I should be looking to buy in my $40 price range.
I never figured legally carrying a pocket knife would be more complicated than legally carrying my .380!
