Best EDC with a CPM S30V blade?

All depends on your needs and how much you are willing to spend.
I carry Native for about a year and very happy with it. $40, it is beater. For heavy duty Lil Temp or Mini Manix. Very strong knives. I handle both and bought Lil Temp just because it is discontinued and Mini Manix I can get later. Both knive shave very good ergos. I like Dodo, but I had trouble to close lock, some of them had this issue.

I've gotta say +1 on the Spyderco Native. It's a great knife, for such a low price. I don't EDC it anymore, because I replaced it with a Buck TacLite, but I keep it in my car for various uses. When I EDCed it, it never let me down. And, in the event that you should lose it, you're not really out that much, and it's easy to replace by going to about any Wal-Mart.

My vote is for the Native on the basis of price and size. It's a great knife and the one that winds up in my pocket most frequently.

I have the mini Manix and I find that while it's a superb knife, the size, strength and weight of it are overkill for most of my EDC needs, which admittedly are pretty light in nature. The Native seems just right for small cutting needs, and can handle serious jobs very well too.

After removing the clip the Native rides well just dropped in the pocket. That's one of the things I love about its small package size.

I EDC the mini-Ritter grip (Doug Ritter's RSK Mk1). Great knife! More info at http://www.equipped.org/rsk_mk1.htm

The Ritter Mini-Grip seems to be one of those knives where the sum is greater than the parts. +1 vote for it.

Dodo is great, but I feel it is more specialized than an EDC should be. Would like to see a Dodo II with a blade like the Military or Calypso Jr.

Not a big fan of the Native blade.

Mnandi is nice, but expensive and therefore really a hardcore (or superficial) knife persons choice.

...there'll be a Caly 3 with G10 and S30V? soon....or is it VG10?

The Caly III will use VG-10. Spyderco is working on a ZDP-189 version if sales of the normal Caly III do well. As far as bang for the buck goes, the Native is hard to beat, but if you can, handle the Mini-Manix and Para-Military. They are both great knives using S30-V

as far as s30v steel goes, IMO, spyderco has the best. my 2 favorite spyderco folders are the chinook and the manix. the manix 80mm would be something you should look into. it is probably one of the toughest folders you will ever hold. EXTREMELY tough knife!

My main EDC is a Benchmade 943 Osbourne.
I like this knife so much I actually bought a spare.
Light and thin with a good length blade.

The Spyderco dodo is great.

Also, the Kershaw Avalanche is really nice, but I think the blade is 3.2 inches...can't quite remember exactly.
