Hey there I wanted to start a thread about the best EDC here's the parameters. Small fixed blade or folding knife preferably with a micarta handle.

To me best is whatever one feels like carrying. My three as of now:

I have nicer blades then these but don't carry them.

Benchmade 531 Pardupgraded!!!

It's super light at two ounces, G-10 instead of Micarta but that should be fine, useful, thin, spear-shaped drop point, nicest detent of any Axis I've encountered (6 non-BMs and 5 BM Axis to compare to) it's amazing.

I got mine today. At some angles the Axis bar alone can deploy the blade fully, and the tang/lock bar stops the blade from swinging all the way shut until you let the lock go.

It's awesome.

It has no micarta...hell, it doesn't even have G10, but the Spyderco Delica is hard to beat for EDC. You will get many fancier answers but the Delica is a winner. ;)

Out of curiosity, why Micarta? Are you open to G10?

What length of blade are you looking for?

What is your EDC environment?

As far as I'm concerned, production EDC folders don't get any better than the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or the Cold Steel Code 4. Neither use micarta; I'm not generally a fan of it as a material in most contexts, as I see it as needlessly expensive while simply not being as good as G10.

My favorite EDC fixed blade is the Cold Steel Super Edge. It's fully serrated and small enough to keep on yyour keychain. It's also very study and has a great kraton handle.

If you're stuck on micarta, you may want to look into the Kershaw Crown (great value for that knife) or the ESEE Izula 2 if it's not too big for you.

Hey! Honestly I just started buying knives and I enjoy the feel and look of micarta but I don't care. So far the only knive that wasn't less then $20 dollars I have is the Ken onion ripple not sure what model but it was about $130

I had the chance to buy this knife at a gunshow for about $70 I should have bought it then.

Just FYI, be careful buying knives at gun shows. I've seen a fair number of fakes of popular makes and models on gun show tables.

A.G. Russell Woodswalker. Small fixed blade. Under $25 with your choice of leather or kydex sheath.

Al Mar Ultralight Falcon. Little bit more expensive, but hey... You'll like the hell out of it.

Get a custom. You'll like it even better.

You can't go wrong with a buck 110!

Best is highly subjective. Boker Plus Marlowe Bullpup fits your parameters and is a handsome, though hefty for its size, EDC blade. If you have the cash, the Fiddleback Forge Production Hiking Buddy is very, very nice.

I agree, a Spyderco Delica is a great EDC knife and my most carried and used. If you want something smaller, get a Dragonfly from Spyderco. If you want Micarta scales you can get one of the scale makers here on the forum to make them for your Delica.

Izula II is a great nice small fixed blade w/ micarta handles. Can't think of a regular production folder off the top of my head, but a Mini-Grip w/ custom micarta handles would also make for a great EDC.

Thanks I have been looking out for that. The bench made did have the original box and plastic wrapper with it so I wasn't super concerned.
