I've never had any oil finish cure properly on cocobolo. Just gets gummy.
Frankly, there's no point to trying, either. It's oily stuff to begin with, and very stable. I just wax it every once in a while with a good paste wax, and that keeps it looking nice. One of my regular carry utility knives has a cocobolo handle, and it's been beaten pretty hard with no real ill effect...
