Best Flipper options with 2.75-3.5" blades

Why hasn't anybody mentioned the JYD 2 ti ? I have a few flippers including 1 RJM custom....to me the JYD 2 ti is the fastest and best flipper I have for the money.

It may not be the most tactical looking knife but it's easy to get out of the pocket and fast to deploy.

I modded that big Ugly Kershaw clip btw......better looking and easier to get out of the pocket.

You mentioned that you have a CRKT folder...Take another look at what CRKT has to offer...They won't "break the bank", but are pretty well-made, stout folders.

Im quite "tierd" of hearing these people who constantly post about the "tactical word usage" in peoples posts... if you find it funny, laugh, and move on... we dont need to waste our time reading ur dumb post, about your opinion of why not to carry a tactical knife, this thread is of the maker of it, and in my own opinion the only replys he should be getting are of valuable information to help him decide on a knife... if you guys realized ur not much better then trolls..

I mentioned that im sick of hearing people laugh about carrying tactical blades, because if you think about it, u watch the news on TV, and see a brutal attack on a man/woman sometimes for no purpose at all (like last night when i watched tv) 2 teens in a MCdonals brutally attacked a trans-gender for being in the womens bathroom.. they beat her/him so badly that they are facing a felony charge.. as the victom was having siezures .... now whether it be a knife or a can of OC... it is my opinion every1 have something on them to protect themselves...

btw, i have had a knife pulled on me TWICE in my life... i dont live in a bad neighborhood, but it seems no matter where u go trouble will find u... now i dont know wheather the person/s had any real intent on stabbing me, i didn't want to find out, one step back while i deployed my Mchenry and williams 710 BM, well both times they fled.. and no i didn't run after them like rambo, and yes i did have to go home and change my underwear :).. but i rather say that now then say i wish i could have helped myself somehow .... so all of u that think this "tactical" carry is a joke.. i hope nothing ever does happen to u!, but if it does.. i bet ur remember reading this post then ;)..

to the dude who created this thread, keep ur search going!... dont let em put ya down, and sorry but i had to try to stop at least some of these trolls from constantly saying tactical blades aren't worth carrying...trust me I KNOW!

Well, if we have to read "ur dumb post", you're going to have to read ours. Perhaps you may learn a thing or two. If you are a real sgt, would you advocate handing out rifles to raw recruits before they had any training?

Real Self Defense should start with the software between your ears. It comes from physical training, situational and self-awareness. The problem with "tactical" knives is that it is all marketing hype that many use to skirt the real goal of "self defense".

Just buying a "tactical" knife doesn't make you a knife-fighter, ninja commando or a martial artist. Wanting the "BEST" knife doesn't even mean anything tangible because the uneducated knife-buyer doesn't even understand that he/she must insert his skills or lack-of skills into the equation.

A $20 knife or a $500 knife stuffed into one's pocket does not make a warrior. It may even create the false sense of bravery in a situation where beating-feet would have been the wiser choice. Without making serious consideration and investigation into what "self defense" is, buying and carrying knives may still leave the individual without options if that moment of danger ever happens.

For my part, I meant no offence and apologise if any was taken by you, the OP or anyone on this forum. My response was a reaction to another member's playful banter on the topic. I don't believe he meant any offence either.

A cautionary tale, however: you've had two encounters where you feel brandishing your knife had saved you from a worse fate. You were very very lucky your would-be assailants chose to flee. If they had not, you would have seen first hand why knives should be considered the very last resort in a self-defense situation. If you think I've had no experience with random violence, you'd be wrong. I was the victim of an ugly assault by three random attackers. Messed me up pretty good: I received a nose broken, a few busted ribs and many stitches. There was no demand for my wallet or watch; just three goons itching to fight someone/anyone. My apple-peeler stayed in my pocket the whole time... where it belongs. We could debate 'what-ifs' until the cows come home, but the fact is I'm still here, healed up, and those fellas are now serving a court sentence.

Well I'm sorry this thread caused a little commotion. No offense taken and big thanks for all the helpful posts. As I've spent more time researching the topic (thanks to your suggestions )I think what I would really like to find is a quality IKBS flipper and the David Mossier Fusion has caught my eye: http://www.dmknives.com/fusion.html . Any other suggestions in the IKBS flipper category I should be looking at?
