So I decided to sell my mini-grip (will be listed in the sale forum in a few minutes) and although I like the knife the plastic like handles aren't really a preference nor is the thumb stud opening system. Now that I am learning more what I like it just doesn't fit what I want. I am learning quickly I like flippers and G-10 handles and sub 3.5" blades. So with the funds from selling the mini-grip I need to buy another knife.

Suggestions?

Kizer Vanguard Gemini with a 3.125" VG-10 blade, bearings flipper, G-10 and liner lock for about $80.

That's actually the knife that was at the top of my list lol....that and the Intrepid

I didn't mention Vanguard Intrepid because it has a 3.625" blade so it's over your 3.5" preference.

If you're looking for a hard use knife, I love my Kershaw brawler. Takes a little to break in, but flips fast and hard, and can take a real beating. All at a really low price

FYI: Kershaw Brawler is Assisted Opening (AO) and not a manual flipper. If you don't mind AO, Kershaw has a number of nice ones including my favorite: Camber.

I had a Kershaw Scallion that I like. Just want to try a new brand

The Boker Mini Kwaiken VG-10/G-10 is a little over $100 but a nice IKBS bearings flipper.

I know this going to sound weird but I have a thing about paying premium prices for "Walmart" brands. What I mean is I can't buy a high end item from a company that also makes cheaper stuff you could go to Walmart and buy. I have the same issue with Seiko watches.

If I was in the market for a knife meeting your specs and budget, I might be tempted by a CRKT Carajas: 3.12" Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade, IKBS bearing pivot, G-10 scales, tip-up right hand only pocket clip, 3oz package. Kind of a funky lookin' pocket clip, but an interesting design overall. Should be able to find one NIB for around $55 USD. Never owned one myself though, to be perfectly honest.

Not sure I'm understanding you correctly, but I suspect the majority of manufacturers of any product offer both economy and luxury lines. Within a $100 budget, your choice in the matter may be limited.

Good luck, OP! :)

If you like the looks of the Carajas then I'll second it.. Perfect, fast action, very grippy(almost too much) also a great slicer. I would also say anything from kizer. They make some great flippers at a great price for the quality you get. My 2 cents.

CRKT Carajas is real nice. I got one a few months ago and love how smooth the flipper action is. Very interesting look and well worth the price.

I ordered a Kizer Gemini from BladeHQ. Thought I would try a new to me brand

The answer to this is the same as the best flipper any price range: Kershaw Skyline

I have to agree with Regen and bikerdave, the Kershaw Skyline or the Buck Vantage are the two best in the price range. Both American made and both can be had at around $50 or less, depending on which version you get. You could probably get both for under $100.

The Boker Mini Kwaiken has already been mentioned but I will second that recommendation. It has a really smooth action due to the bearings. It is a little heavy for a small knife but it feels really solid in my hand. It will max out your budget but is a great knife.
