Best flipping action production knife?

The 561 is a beast... sooo smooth. However, I think my Domino may have finally taken top spot for me.

I think CRKT have some that use IKBS, so I would assume they are very smooth flippers.

In my experience so far I prefer caged bearings over IKBS. The IKBS bearings are very very small, so it's very easy for dirt to mess up their action. That being said, I am pretty happy with the action on my Ripple and Swindle.

I have never handled a finer flipper than the Kershaw 777.

Hard to think of it as production at those prices however.

As has been mentioned... ZT 0801. It is an amazing knife for a production model. Smoooooooooooth!

I feel like it should be at least considered "mid tech" for that price and quality  I was really hoping that the 770CF would be a manual flipper with the KVT bearings, I definitely would have pre ordered it if that was the case. The 777 is just a little outside of my price range

Of the ones I've used, I'd say the CRKT Ripple was the smoothest flipper I've used. IKBS is pretty amazing, at least for me.

Never count out the Kershaw Groove...best bang for the buck. I picked one up for $40 and it was nicely broken in. Bearing/IKBS smooth kind of broken in even though it only rides on bronze washers.

Matt Cucchiara is doing a bunch of midtech runs now and his lvl 1 midtech is around 350$ I believe and they are all still perfect...
Then the zt 0801

CRKT Summa. I'm not a huge flipper fan but that knife had an incredible flipping action. For the price there is no reason not to own one and see for yourself!

If only a little you should stretch that little bit It is a wonderful knife

I really like my 801 its very smooth. I agree that the ram and the the groove are so smooth, just realized how much I like the ram after not using it for awhile. The junkyard dog 2 is really slick I'm a big fan it is smoother the the previous version. As for the CRKT lineup the ripple is also really smooth and the 5335 ikoma sampa uses the same bearings but seems a little smoother than the ripple and gets smoother over time for a budget flipper its really nice.

My zt 560 and 561 are very fine knives, but my spyderco southard has better fit and finish and although smaller seems just as sturdy. Also with better steel. A great buy. Be patient and wait for one.

I own Curtiss f3 3,5, crkt swindle, spyderco domino. And ive tried a ZT 0560.
Swindle flips best and smoothest, but it has a very small blade compared to the others.
Domino comes at second place, but its as fast as the swindle, but has a bigger blade, i just loooooove the domino, wow what a knife.. And im not sure if it has it wear a bit to get even smoother? Then it prob going to be as good as the swindle..
F3 at Third and 0560 last.
But Thats only what i think, all knives are great flippers, but they all have different bladesize's and bladethicknesses. So hard to say really.

Sorry for My gramar. (Not even sure if i spell Gramar correctly..)

How long have you had the F3? Those are amazing, I would have expected that one to be silky smooth.

About a month or so, not sure. Yeah, it is very smooth, even though it has a thick blade. (For me its a thick blade anyway)
Did a thread not long ago, it should be on the first side, maybe second here in General knifediscussion.
Thread is named 'finally ive got My flipper' check it out if your interested in some pics of it:)

I was never a big fan of flippers until the tips of my fingers, on my right hand, developed neuropathy due to a spinal cord stroke last year. I could not use a thumbstud to open a knife, but my flipper finger was not affected as much and I could flip open a blade. Since then the neuropathy has left, but I have learned that I do like a flipper! That said, my two best flippers are my ZT0801, and my ZT0600. They open like they ride on butter.

Nothing like a medical condition to bring you to the dark side! I'm glad to hear that you got better though.
