Best Fog Knife?

It's kinda like a "survival knife"; everyone has their own ideal, but it all comes down to what you have on you when the fog rolls in.

It is most important to use a blade with a good heat treatment as this helps in evaporation as you slice away the fog.

When my little sister was in the Girl Scouts, she said they were told to use lots of WD-40 on their fog knives since the water displacement properties of WD-40 were very useful considering the damp conditions to which fog knives were subjected.

Rust is always an issue when it comes to fog knives, but experienced fog cutters have found a way to avoid this problem. You simply sharpen the fog knife until you've achieved an edge that will neatly cut H2O molecules in two. That way, you end up with millions of perfect H1Os and Os flying off into the air away from your knife. A simple and elegant solution.

A properly sharpened fog knife with the correct edge geometry can slice through 80" of free hanging fog in one swing.

I gotta go with T Schloz on that one. I've seen it happen.

Fog cutting has been illegal in the UK for some years since they found out small groups of people enjoyed doing it.

What's the best knife for cutting Red Tape?
On second thoughts don't bother....It won't be legal here anyway :-(

There are some very good suggestions here.
I keep going back to that Combat Smatula.
What do you think about spraying it with Pam (sort of a food grade WD40) as a fog lubricant? That way it could still serve as an emergency pancake turner in a pinch without having to wipe off any other non-food grade fog lubricants.

(Sorry to hear fog cutting is no longer allowed in England. It was still legal when I was there in the Air Force just after we switched over to metal planes from wood & fabric planes.)

Round where i live we just use an old two manned seesaw with the teeths grounded out and most important detail of all the acid etched dragon on one side and phoenix on the other side. Just take that and swing it. The old folks say that the dragon spits fire and the phoenix jsut fires up to engulf the fog.:D :D

of course round where i live we dont get fog, only 99% humidity which is the same as fog without the whiteness. ;)
