Up until now my highest price folder is a paramilitary 2 and a benchmade 710. Got a pretty good tax return, so looking to go up to the $200 bracket. Just looking for folders you would reccomend for EDC?? thanx

I really like the Bradley Alias II (or the larger Alias I). Similar to the Sebenza, though I actually prefer the design of the Alias because the handle is contoured (fits better in my hand) and the modified spear point blade is quite versatile. In terms of fit and finish, it can never compare to a hand-finished knife like the Sebenza, but it is much less expensive.

(You might get more/better responses if you're more specific about what you're looking for.)

ZT550 has to be one to look at.
Bradley Alias I or Alias II, depending on size, would be worth a look.
The DPx H.E.S.T. 2.0 seems to be getting good reports.
PM2 in a sprint run supersteel might be interesting.
Al Mar S.E.R.E. is nice.
Benchmade 755mpr in M390, if you like the fat chunky ones.

ZT 0550
DPX H.E.S.T. 2.0
Bradley Alias 1 or 2
Spyderco Rock Lobster
Spyderco Para 2 Blue/M390
Spyderco Native 5
Spyderco Manix 2 XL
Spyderco Manix 2 - Tan/M4

And A Bunch More lol.

You could just upgrade what you know and love and pick up either a Para 2 or Benchmade 710 in M390. Or you could pick up something a bit more genteel like a Mcusta Tactictility or a Spyderco Sage 4. Personally, I'm hording my $200 in expectation of the Spyderco Laci Szabo folder, but I like large folders and have been in love with that one for better than a year now.

Thanx for recomendations guys. Actually the blue para 2 and zt300 where some of the ones i was looking at. The only thing is, is that i already have a para2, and im afraid the zt300 will be too heavy. just wanna try new designs and companies. Keep em coming guys:)

I'd go with a 0550 instead of a zt300. Manual, more pocketable, just everything about it is great for EDC. $200 is more than you need for a nice knife, so at that price range you'll mostly gain special materials and exclusivity. Since you already have a PM, getting another one in a better steel wouldn't be as satisfying as getting something that doesn't have similar lower priced alternatives IMO.

I have a Para2 in 20CP. Today I got in this AFCK 806-1101, designed with Benchmade by a former Navy Seal Chris Caracci. This is right at $200, and is an Advanced Folder Combat Knife in super-steel M390. It is axis lock and some reviewers consider it an Upgrade to the always popular 701 series, which you are familiar with. Very, very sharp out of the box, which doesn't always happen with Benchmade, but seems "normal" with this knife in various reviews.
I have quite a few very nice knives, right at $200, and this is a great knife. I highly recommend that you look at it. These are limited in number, and likely will be sold out rather quickly.

0.550" handle thickness, just less than 4" blade, ZERO blade play, Nice scale colors, high quality manufacture...
I really like this knife.

I have been carrying a Benchmade 525 for a few months and I think it is one of the best knives I have owned. It is solid and easy to keep sharp. The size is good for me, but you might want something larger - depends on your hand size.

I have the BM 755 MPR in M390 and it's a great "little" knife, but the handle is a bit blocky @ 0.610". Note that my BM806 AFCK is 0.550" thick handle, but this knife doesn't seem "fat" at all in my hands. Probably because the 806 is so much longer than the 755.

You also might want to look at the Emerson CQC-8. I'm not really a fan of Emerson knives, but it's a great design all around.
