Guys, the last post in this thread was 3 years ago, before today.

I've seen the 440c variants at various web dealers for 42-50$, usually it's the mini size though sometimes full as well. I'd just keep an eye out if you're in the market, good prices come up on them often, though I guess they'd qualify as sale prices. Probably should specify that.

I'd have to add the Spyderco R2 and the CRKT S2 to that fine list. Both of these are exceptional values IMO.

Hmm...I'd have to say the Kershaw Avalanche. S30V, G10 and AO for 80 dollars....feels extremely solid and all around great knife.

Paramilitary. Of course, that's year before year before last's prices. :D

Ah, thanks. I've been looking around at Enduras and Griptilians, and all the Griptilians I've seen seem to be normally retailing for around $65-$75.

You can't go wrong with a Spyderco!

Absolutely.
If you need good EDC knife between $50 and $100, than you go to NGK and choose Spyderco which you like the most.

First, look at the top dealers - you can do a search here on the forums to find out who they are.

I personally recommend www.newgraham.com (known also as NGK), www.knifecenter.com, www.gpknives.com.

Then, to paraphrase another post, get the Spyderco or Benchmade that appeals to you the most. You'll be assured of great build quality, the latest & best materials for the money, and a manufacturer and dealer standing behind the product.

A few of my favorites, which are in the 50-75 range, are the Spyderco D'Allara; the Spyderco Endura 4, and the Benchmade Griptilian in one of its many available versions.

Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT) have very good fit and finish, and are often designed well, but IMO they are not at the same level as Benchmade and Spyderco.

spyderco mini-manix mate will never let ou down when you need it hold an edge like you wouldnt believe and cuts lik well u wouldnt believe it not as big as some people complain

I wonder if Dead In New York City ever made a choice and bought what he wanted LOL:D

Kap:rolleyes:

still, though, asked an interesting question

but you're right, LOL

For me EDC must be light, no compromises. Around $50 - Spyderco Centofante 3 in VG10, around $100 - Fallkniven TK4 in Supergold powder steel. Centofante is a little bigger. Good luck. I love both.
