hey guys.
im wondering whats the best knife for around 500-$600
first off i love customs
next i like flippers alot but it has to be easy to flip out, also either thumb stud or hole.
it has to be a steel that holds a good edge and takes a medium time to sharpen like 40 min?
no slipjoints.. i prefer liner or frame lock.
also it has to be appealing to the eye
7 oz or less in weight..
also its fine if its a production knife

look at ray laconico knives I repeat you need to look at ray laconico knives please for the love of god look they are just what you are looking for.

Ray does make some great knives. Only advice I can give you is support a maker and buy custom. You won't regret it

Yuna or Kirby Lambert in your specs. For my money it would be Demko ad-10, if you can wait a year for it.

How about the ZT 0600 coming out? Basically a premium production version of RJ Martin's Overkill. Uses B75P steel (powder version of BG42). I want one.

Recently made bout the same thread got lots of great responses I can't speak from experience but to name a few shirogorov, Mikkel willumson, ray laconico, Jb Blount, Robert tighe(think that's right), rj Martin and many more...I'm getting my first custom through Alan Davis in a cpl months that's gonna be a flipper and made arrangements with gareth to get a shamwari already also pre ordered zt 0801

Check out Jake Hoback knives. He really has some cool looking but also useful designs. If I had the money right now I would be ordering one.

For your budget I'd also recommend looking at Ray Laconico's flippers. Alan Davis would be another good maker to consider. Any way you cut it you should be well into custom territory with your budget and should be able to get whatever you want.
