Best Folder for under $30

the spyderco tenacious is awesome for its price! not very tactical looking but its definitely a meaty knife :D

I'd say the Spyderco Tenacious, Browning Ice Storm, or a number of Kershaws would work nicely. Also, the Ka-Bar Dozier folding knives as well.

Sog Flash 1

This is a neat little slicer that can be had for $30 on eBay

features: Stainless Steel, Zytel Handles, Assisted Opening, Reversible Clip, Dual Thumb Stud, USA made

It's small, light weight, perfect for EDC

When I got mine I sat there and played with the assisted opening for an hour, this is a fun little knife:thumbup:

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I knew this was the right place to ask. So far, the Dozier Spearpoint is my top choice. The Ice Storm was a strong contender but I have some concerns regarding the lock on it.

Also, just to clarify, I'm an American (Texas cowboy Ex-Marine) living in Finland. :) I prefer to buy American, but origin is only one of many considerations. Thanks to the WWW, I can still buy American even while living in Europe when that is the deciding factor.

Also, Also :) Bumping up my budget for my brother would certainly open up more (better?) choices, but then I have to bump the budget for my sister, my dad, my mother, my neices & nephews, the in-laws aaaahhhh where does it stop?! :) :) Next thing I know, I'm eating Ramen noodles everyday and living under the bridge. (Which is VERY cold over here) LOL

Again, Thanks to everyone for your advice. This is a super forum and it is the forumites that makes it so.

Make sure you check out the Boker Trance. EXCELLENT knife, and it has that tacticool look. I LOVE mine.

Another vote for the Byrd series in G10. I have two the Robin and the Meadowlark and they are awesome for the money. I'd get the Cara Cara if the local carry laws permit...
