Best Folder in 154CM

My 14205 is one of my favorite knives. I love the axis lock and the 154cm takes a great edge.

I wish I would have kept a manual LCC with 154cm.

The best value in a CPM154 blade is a blade with D2 tool steel ;)

Seriously, why pay $100+ for S30V or CPM154 when $50 gets D2? Neither are harder nor will either hold an edge longer. The only downside to D2 is corrosion resistance which is neatly taken care of by being wiped down with a Tuf cloth every once in awhile.

Just my 2 cents.

Why pay $ 50 for D2 tool steel when the OP specifically asked about 154CM.

Do I know you? You seem...familiar.

Your 2 cents is lacking:
CPM 154 is not the same as 154CM.

Some folks find that 154CM takes a keener edge than D2.

But the number one reason to supply names of knives with 154CM is that is what the OP asked for.

Maybe not the best for all applications but it is in 154CM (done excellently at that) and isn't a bad knife at all. ZT 0200 is where I'd go for a knife in 154CM for general use with a leaning towards heavy-duty and tactical if this one doesn't cut it.

My experience with D2 was that it did not hold an edge longer. It was a used Paramilitary, maybe the previous owner did something to it?
That and the fact you needed to take decent care of it wipes it off my list.

Under $350? Get a custom. Most all of the knives mentioned above are well under that price. You could almost get 3 ZT0200's for $ 350...

alpha dorado! (pictured along with my sons Buck nobleman!)

think i got it for $60 bucks or so from SMKW

Zero Tolerance might be a cool addition to the box, a nice framelock, huge blade though. Maybe too big? Who makes a great custom nowadays?

The 0200 is a liner lock. But the liner is thicker than some frame locks I've seen. It is a big knife. The entire ZT line is tough. Tanks should be built this tough.

Custom makers? That's a long list. Start with the Knife Maker's Forum here and go from there. Look around in The Exchange for some ideas.

Sorry I was thinking the 0300 - but that's more of the crappy s30v stuff everyone brags about :D :p
I'll check the custom area, thanks!

I agree with poster up a few posts.... Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Covert is an underrated high-performer in 154CM.
