Best folder under 50?

You still need to learn how to use pepper spray properly. If you're going to defend yourself in any way, make sure you're at least competent.
 
you can get a kershaw RAM for 45 before shipping on ebay. It'll far outperform the other knives listed. Very easy to deploy, great lock, great handle materials, good blade shape, tip up. It's the one. Go get it.
 
i second the pepper spray for self defence... i was looking at cold steels line for my girlfriend but if you wanna knife i think kershaw is great quality for the price and they offer pink and rainbow models like Leek, Scallion, Chive all smaller folders that i think are great for the $
