After starting a folder thread I had two requests to do this. I am not necessarily going to tabulate the finalists but if anyone is willing, please step forward. Lets have fun.

Post up your favorite folding knives that were made ONLY in 2008. Could be from the collection or the web, both.

I will start with my three favorite folder purchases.

This was a special order from Josh. The "Tiger Stripe" damascus has been blued to a gold color. Everything came together so well on this one!

I have always wanted a carved pearl folder by Cliff. This one has crazy damascus that was made by combining wedge peices. The pearl is some incredible Black Lip.

This is a classic beauty from Don. Great ivory and some VERY tight damascus for the blade. The bolsters have that amazing trademark mosaic. I love the rainbow filework on this.

I was lucky to get few very nice folders this year. I think I may need to start a best Tactical thread though.

I was just recently introduced to Bill Vining's work when he joined the CKCA.
Bill's work is spectacular IMO.

Bill describes these two pieces.
7" OAL
A bit new to making damascus. This is my first piece of twist.
High Polished and Hot Blued
File worked Ti Liners
I had originally Nitre Blued this knife and it looked fantastic. What I did not like was of the durability of Nitre Bluing.

I was able to score a couple of beautiful slippies this year. The first one is from Bill Vining (This is BIll's pix. I have not been able to take my own pix yet.), and the other 2 are MIke Alsdorf's.
