Best folding utility knife = ?

+1 on the EAB by Gerber. An excellent Utility Knife!!!:D:thumbup:

I would normally reply SAK but you didnt say multitool.

So, my answer would be Al Mar SERE 2000. I really enjoy a lot of my folders, but this one is the one that I go to as my utility folder.
 
I sell the Original Superknife (and use it in a warehouse environment). It's really good, comes with rubberized or anodized AL handles, no customer complaints.

Still I prefer my Endura 4 Wave for all utility work.
 
Sebenza small or large,SNG,or any other open construction Ti-Framelock.They're real easy to clean.
 
I like my superknife, but I use it light duty and don't carry it around. It's my box opener for home. The stop pin doesn't hold itself closed very well, I can swing it a little and it flies open.
 
I am refering to folding knives with replaceable blades.
The Gerber doesn't look bad. It seems to offer more exposed edge than most others.
 
I've got a Husky utility knife that I use when I don't want to muck up my other knives. It's got thumbstuds, but the backspring (or whatever's holding it closed) puts enough pressure on it that I can't open it one-handed, so it's not likely to swing open like the Superknife Doughnut described. Someone with larger/stronger hands than mine could probably open it one-handed, though.
 
I carry an EAB in my edc bag and like it for boxes and simple edc chores but for hard use I use a folding/locking husky utility knife. The thicker handles and general build is more comfortable and works better for hard use and abuse then the EAB IMHO. I used my husky for a summer of flood relief work a couple years ago. Nasty nasty stuff. Mud and silt covered soaking wet carpet, lots and lots of drywall and a host slime covered other things that needed to be cut. Husky looks like it went through heck and back but still works just fine. The EAB would never have survived that. So it depends on what you want to use it for.
 
$9 folding Sears utility knife that uses replaceable contractor's blades...even has a pocket clip and has been in regular use for longer than most of my Benchmade and Spydies. I hope I don't have to replace it any time soon, because what's now out is inferior quality.
