Recommendation? Best for my money

by the way how good are the ergos on the adamas? i might just carry the new edc in my back pocket so it doesnt fight over pocket space since i usually have one back pocket free. plus Ive never had a D2 steel knife before

If you’re hands are large it’d probably feel better but in mine the squareness of it reminds me of a brick. Saber grip feels nice and the jimping and slight ramp are perfect. Just overall too thick for my hands but it’s not terrible. I think Benchmades D2 on it is ran 61-62 hrc good stuff has held a good edge but man the blade is thick and only thins out half way down but cuts fine on most things and looks badass (which is what really matters :D)

Carry your Manix 2 until you know EXACTLY what you want.

To me, the most fun knives to manipulate are balisongs, and after that, flippers.

How about a nice Kershaw Leek? (assisted flipper) That is an easy one to carry, and not a pocket hog at ALL. Not gonna break the bank, and is likely all the steel you need, too.

Benchmade 940 is one that I can't get out of my head, but the Axis lock is really never the right tension for fun fidgeting. Pull it back, and it's too loose. Don't pull it back and it's no faster than anything else. A nice flipper just destroys it.

i used to love my leek till the blade closed on me and almost sliced my hand and wrist. but youre right about carrying my manix until i know exactly what i want

I've been carrying a mini-Grip for a couple of years now, and it's been great. Holds an edge well, and is easy to get back up to shaving sharp. I like the axis lock and it's proven sturdy and reliable. I think Benchmade does a really good job with their HT of 154CM.

How about a Benchmade Mini Loco. All the goodness of a Loco without being as massive as one. Seems it might fit your needs

i handled one before and was amazed by how much i loved it. Just seems a little too blunt of a tip, to the point where i would rather just carry my zt 0350

How did the Leek close. The lock didn't work?

One thing about the Mini Grip: it's sharp, grippy scales will tear up your pants in short order, if you don't file them down under the pocket clip. Also, it's not thin in the pocket. Feels great in the hand while using, but it's a CHUNK in the pocket. Bugout's a better option, IMO.

The part that I didn't understand was how did that little blade get near your wrist??

had the blade in the pumpkin and was pulling it towards myself and the lock failed and made the blade slip out of the pumpkin while partially closed. Hard to explain

Gotcha. As long as it's still attached, you'll be okay

I always found the Leek too small for my comfort level... and the one time I handled a Delica, I cut myself trying to close it.

I think the things that killed the Leek for me were twofold:
A. The super sharp tip. I felt like it would be impossible not to round it off while sharpening.
B. Safety in the pocket vs convenience. If I didn't lock it closed, it might flip open in the pocket, but if I did lock it, it became much slower to open, even than an unassisted knife. Then what's the point?

I have a Leek composite with D2 at the blade. Never had any trouble with the tip getting rounded, even after years of sharpening. But then, D2.
Another thing about the Leek that I do like is that it fits comfortably in my watch pocket, leaving my right front pocket free for change, keys and other stuff. Additionally, its a close enough fit that the blade really can't open and even if it did, my hand is never close to the blade while drawing it out. Been carrying mine that way for years. I feel confident enough with it there that I removed the tip lock altogether.
