Ok back for another question for knifemakers on here... What would be the best blade to use while cutting the framelock on a thick Grade 5 Titanium frame (1/4")?

I plan on putting the blade in my milling machine. I'll rig in the vice the handle laying horizontal to cut. Any one have links/names to good options for blades? Thanks!

I have a blade similar to this one-

A fine tooth cobalt slotting saw. They are expensive, what cost around $60 a few years ago when I bought one is now $88

Shop around, you might could find similar cheaper elsewhere than MSC.

Feed 'em slow and use coolant. The teeth will burn up on that TI if you are not careful.

excellent thanks, how has the life of the blade lasted with it? Still cutting Ti fine after the few years you've had it? If so I think that would still be worth the price, but I'll shop around either way.

You might also keep on eye out on eBay for a pile of just regular HSS slitting saws. I bought an arbor a while back that came with about 30 or 40 saw blades, just like the one posted by Salem. I wanna say the arbor and the blades was less than $50. I can cut Ti with it, and I don't feel bad if I burn one up, though with good, slow feeds and speeds, and a decent cutting fluid, it's really not a huge problem. You won't get as many per blade as a cobalt, but it does the job for a lot less coin.

Excellent, good to know! Thank you a bunch for the tips!
