Tramontina machete. For $6 you get what is basically a "blank slate" that you can cut down to any blade length, tip shape, and edge angle you want. The wood handled ones can be shaped and sanded to fit your hand perfectly. And if you don't like the feel of wood in your hands (there's a joke in here somewhere), you can knock those rivets out and slap on the scales of your choice.
