im in the market for a gents folder, i've always been a BM fan but im always open to an alternative. price is always a factor but id be willing to shell out $150, maybe $200....

Suggestions?

Well "best" is a subjective term. IMO, a William Henry or Sebenza would be the "best." I'll admit I've never handled a WH but the Sebenza is a great knife. If you don't want to throw down that much money, I use a Spyderco Kopa for my gents knife. Solid little knife with many options for handle scales. Choose your flavor.

Not sure if you like slipjoints or not, but if you do, a Sodbuster of some kind, either the full size or one of the Jr. models would work. Some good manufacturers are Case and Boker. Ever since I handled a Case Jr. version in Gander Mountain, I wanted one. One's on its way to my house right now.;)

Try the Queen/Schatt-Morgan series any of the Canal Street Cutlery offers, they all make excellent Gent Knives, they don't lock but make gorgeos EDCs.

Try a french Laguiole knife, they have very strong backsprings and are beautiful examples of the Cutlers art.

The Kershaw Nakamura, Spyderco Mini-Persian, or Spyderco Goddard with white micarta scales are my three favorites. Beautiful little cutters, all three.

Check out the Fallkniven U2

Awesome steel that is insano sharp and holds an edge a longggg time

My personal favorite for gentlemans folders are the Nemesis Imp

Or check out:
Benchmade 440 and 480
Spyderco Kopa
Mcusta knives have several
Buck Mayo TNT and Waimea
William Henry are great but they are out of your price range (most of them but you can check the for sale forums and used online places)

I would love to get a William Henry but I guess I am on a budget. I may give the Fallkniven U2 a try. It has one of those new super steels and even though, it is affordable! Another plus is that you won't scare anyone with it and can be carried almost anywhere given the size of that thing.
