Best handly little FB < 3"

I'm partial to the BRKT Lil' Creek. I know my good friend Marty Simon of the Wilderness Learning Center has carried an A.G. Russell Woodswalker for some time now.

Remember, what good is a lil' knife if it isn't on you. These two are very compact and easy to carry necker style.

Easy to find, affordable, great for fishing and hunting as well as small camp chores, small enough to ride on the belt and not be in the way, available in both carbon steel and stainless, made first by Schrade (1974-2004), then by United, Camillus, Bear & Son and a host of others, possibly by Ontario now. Your choice of Delrin, stabilized wood, stag, bone or Zytel. I carry one as a companion knife to my larger 5 1/4" Old Timer Woodsman when deer hunting and camping. Great little knife. Endorsed by Sonny Barger and Fred Perrin too!

those are some great choices.... bark river makes quite a few knives under 3 in.... i really like the mini and mikro canadians... i have both....

you should also check out www.mlknives.com matt does some really nice work....

Thanks for the link. he does some real nice work. Some of it may be mine soon.....

Another endorsement for the Mini Canadian. The choil allows for a 4 finger grip, although it is comfortable and secure to hold with 3 fingers in my medium-sized hand. I use it a lot as an edc in a Woodswalker pocket sheath, but it will do most heavy outdoors work too, if you have enough ingenuity to make do with its small size. The blade is quite thick at the spine, but has the razor-sharp, easily maintained convex edge that Bark River is known for. This is probably my favorite knife that I own.

I'll put my 2 cents in for the Bark River Mikro canadian & the Blackwater Boot knife both small knives that cut like crazy. can be worn as a neck knife and you'll forget you are carrying it, lifetime warranty:thumbup:

Wow, lots of suggestions and much food for thought. Thanks for your posts guys!

Hey Codger that little blade looks evil !

Kinda reminds me of a traditional version of my sons Ka-Bar Skinner, below is the only pic I have with it on, it's the one on the far right !!!

Hey Pit Dog, that used to be a pretty popular knife. I believe it was called the Sharpfinger.

Doc

That name is fitting bro cos it sure is sharp !!!!

It does seem like Ka-Bar based the idea on the knife you have though !

I have a couple of Sharpfingers, including one of the new Old Timers that was made since the takeover by Taylor Cutlery. While it is made in China (didn't know that when I ordered it since it was within several months of the change of ownership. Since it was so cheap ($15), I thought it was from a US factory closeout like SMKW had with the Camillus knives earlier this year) the quality is actually very good. The fit and finish is not quite the same as the American made ones that I own, but the blade performs just as good as the old ones. While it may not look as pretty as my older ones, it cuts just as good. Even though I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it was a Chinese product, I couldn't be happier with it.

I generally would go with a folder in this size range. I like the choices you have though and would add the Gossman PSK. The only fixed I own under 3 inches. Cool little knife.
