Best Hard-Use fully-serrated folder?

I have a stainless Spyderco C10 Endura that is a true brute, tough as nails. A little heavy but a good back pocket knife.

No way, man! It's yours! I may buy a drop-point version though.

I just picked up a fully-serrated ATR on Ebay. It's been a while since I've handled one. I'll check it out and then maybe trade it for a police. Maybe a G10 or CF police? I don't know. Maybe the plain steel ones are stronger.

YEAH!
Maybe Sal can arrange something.

You will like the ATR, I bet. I have a steel one and an OLD Police. Both fully serrated. The Police is one of the very first made and it has been sharpened for so many years that I sharpened the serrations mostly away and then reground some new dragon tooth ones. I used it soley as my EDC till Benchmade started the AFCK and then I got one of those too. But I digress.
The ATR was a recent purchase and I love the newer Spyderco serrations even better. More aggressive and the Compression lock is super tough. I think that the compression lock is stronger than the lockback in the long run. My Police lock finally gave out after close to 30 years service so I should not complain though.
The one plus the Police has over the ATR is it has a very useful point. That is the only downside I see to the ATR. Not much of a point for getting under things to cut.

I prefer the stronger point of the ATR.
Does the ATR have the "new" serrations you refer to? If not, what does so I can check 'em out?

I do think the Compression lock is stronger, smoother and more trustworthy than the lockback, but it does bite your hand. I can disengage it easier than a lockback too.

The recent ATR I have has what I see as newer style serrations. They seem more aggressive than my older Spydercos. They remind me a little of the serrations on a few of my Microtechs. I like them a lot. You are right about the ATR having a more robust tip. It is indeed stronger seeming than the thinner Police tip. Each tip has its strong suit. You can not clean under your nails with the ATR;) . I find the handles shape very comfortable. No biting from the compression lock with me at least, and I too find it easy to operate. I love the cobra hood over the hole too. I wish more knives had that feature. It helps in a sure opening and I like the lok of it also.

I like my fully serrated Native, but not really the toughest folder you can get (tho I don't think it's as delicate as I've read others to portray it).

I have an SE native and it is tough as hell! The thing cuts like crazy too. Definately consider it!

I'm surprised to see all the Spyderco recommendations without one mention (unless I missed it) of the Spyderco Military. I have 2 of them and they are AWESOME cutters. Possibly the best SD folder on the market. The fully serrated blade will cut through leather or denim jackets like butter and they rarely need sharpening.

Thanks. I'm still on the fence about the Cobra Hood, though.
