Best hatchet for small jobs?

BigBob: Just do a search for fiskars hatchet and it will be among the top searches. That yellow Buck on right is identical to mine. Handy little hatchet.

What did you use to sharpen it?

Johnny...sorry I just saw this now. I guess I don't get over into this area very often. I actually just used a file, which is the suggestion I've seen a lot for "easy" sharpening. The Estwing technically has a V-edge, but it is such a long edge it almost seems convex. Anyway, with this long edge I found it very easy to get the correct angle just by stroking the file along it. It kind of seems like a natural edge/angle guide they built into the axe.

Also, if you're worried about being able to keep it sharp or get it sharp, some hardware stores offer very inexpensive sharpening services. There's a True Value store in my area that does it...I've never used their service, but it's dirt cheap.

Hope this helps since it's been so long since you asked your question. Feel free to PM me if I don't respond right away and you have more questions about the Estwing.
