I have owned a Buckmaster and currently use more than any other knives I own my beloved Chris Reeve Project II and my Chris Reeve Aviator. I was wondering, I can tell the obvious differences in construction between these two types of blade and handle connection (CRK being one piece and the Buck another way). What about the other hollow handle knives out there. For example how does the Randall and the Jimmy Lile knives compare in durability to the Chris Reeve lineup. Which has the strongest connection and what makes this so? Thanks for your input.

Kev,
To be fair, we've heard folks on this forum speak very favorably with regard to the durability of their Randall and Lile hollow handle knives. I haven't owned either of these latter blades and so am unable to add anything of real significance. I will say, however, that the CRK method of machining the entire knife from a single billet of steel has got to be hard to beat. :)

Yeah the Reeve knives are exceptional. Integral is the way to go with hollow handles. Another method may be to forge a pipe down to an integral hollow handled knife.
