Hello to everyone on the Porch!

Something that has been really missing from my custom traditional collection is something with some really fantastic jigging. I tend to be rather picky when it comes to jigging, so I think that's the reason. I'm a big fan of Case's standard jigging, and the jigging GEC used for the Waynorth #93... I honestly can't think of many other modern, production knives with jigging that I particularly cared for.

A lot of makers use pre-jigged bone, and I do really like Culpepper's Catalina, and Aberdeen jigged bone, but it got me thinking...

Which modern, custom knife maker do you think has the very best jigged bone? Can you show me some excellent examples of custom knives that have been jigged by makers who are still making knives? If their books are closed, that's ok.

Agree with you completely on this Brian. The 93 lamb (and also the 33 Conductor) are my favorite GEC jigging which otherwise is underwhelming to me. Bringing Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 into this conversation as he owns one, but from what I have seen in pictures I REALLY like the jigging done by Cosimo De Benedetto in his knives.

Ooh, I look forward to seeing that! I remember seeing a burl covered Sway Back by Cosimo De Benedetto that was swoon worthy.

It's strange to me... When I look at older knives, it seems like there was no shortage of amazingly jigged bone. I wonder what happened.

A few of mine. You can decide which one you like best. I know I can't!;)

Ken Erickson Jigged Micarta.......

Richard Rogers Jigged Bone........

Reese Bose Jigged Bone.........

Tozaki Jigged Bone.......

Tommy Overynder Jigged Bone........

Great examples, Steven!

As difficult as they can be to get, a Reese Bose is actually at the top of my list right now when it comes to a jigged bone custom. I really like the T.R. Overeynder too! Wow!

Really nice knives!

Thank you Sir.......you have good taste! :)

Holy smokes Elliot!!! Every single one of those is an absolute banger!

I sure hope Enrique Pena circles back around to traditionals. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen him make one now. 😞

Thanks, Brian. I'm a big fan of jigged bone...especially when it's done like these gentlemen have.

This gets my vote.

A freshly jigged lamb from Cosimo.
It is good to see the art of the jig is not dead. Paul@ Jakeywax31 has a beauty too.

Thanks for sharing Bob, your lamb and Paul’s rabbit were the two knives I was thinking of earlier.

Also, Blues Blues , wow those are some stunning examples as well! I’m glad to know that there are more makers do great jigged bone.
