So, you've got about $50 to spend on a Kershaw. What do you buy? My top three would be: Mini Mojito, Speed Bump, or RAM.

Hey JN,
For around $50, did you consider a Mini Cyclone? Great little knife that feels much bigger than it is. Good weight, nice blade shape, and you can actually turn the speedsafe assist on or off, whichever you're in the mood for. So far the only knife from Kershaw with thsi feature.

Give it a look.

Jon

ENER-G or ENER-G II. One helluva slicer, you can get the standard versions or the limited edition black ones. The Lee Williams flipper system is sweet!

Of those three, speed bump. If only for the blade shape.

Then get the others, too, of course.

:D

Id buy a Blur if it had a flipper. Cut myself on 4 of those things because Im used to using a flipper for my AOs.

I have the Speed Bump and the RAM and they're both great knives. Opening and lockup is fast and solid on both. recently I've been carrying the RAM more. The RAM is a little smaller and lighter and looks more classy (until I figure out how to re-handle my bump).

The RAM is more fun to play with when you're bored, too.

Two things Kershaw does that messes with my mind:

1) Carry a stud lock for 2 weeks. Then switch to a liner or frame lock...you'll be reaching for the stud lock for two weeks...

2) Switch back after 2 weeks and see what happens!

For less than that price you can get the VaporII. I think it is one of Kershaws sleepers. THe AUS6 isn't that great of a steel, but it works pretty well. But it's a frame lock and has a great handle.

I lost my EDC Leek a while ago and picked one up just 'cause I needed an excuse. Man, that knife surprised me. I call it the poor man's Shallot.

Or just get a plain Shallot for $50-60

P.S. I found my lost Leek!! yay :D

Gonna have to go with the RAM.
I tried taking my Groove off the counter the other day
and the RAM butted it. ;)
I picked up the RAM. :D

I'd have to go with either the RAM or the Groove(although it's not in your list) both really great knives! I picked up a Blur(tanto PS) the other day and they're awesome knives too, not to into this one though only because I don't care for Tanto's or serrations(just picked it up because I didn't have a blur and it was the only one they had), but I can't wait to get a PE one!!

Almost forgot, the JYD 2 can be had for around the $50 mark and is probably my fav. Kershaw.

Kershaw has quite a few great knives in the $50 range which is one of the things I love about Kershaw, great knives and an awesome price! Nice when you don't have a ton of money to spend!!

I have a young guy working under me that totes one of those with CE and showed it to me yesterday. Nice knife, I like the frame lock on it. He is an Eagle Scout and says he has EDC'd it for about two years and it's served him well.

I will 2nd the JYD2 it is almost perfect, all but the very big odd clip. I paid about $42. Lahar is also a good choice but might be over $50. I think it was about $56 won on the bay. Also watch for a random leek with s30v, mine was around $50 also on that bay place.

I got myself a Vapor for 18.46$ at Wal Mart recently, only problem I' ve had with it, is that the Pivot screw keeps losening a little bit, so I get blade play wuite frequently. But you can always tighten the pivot when you need to.

Or you can use a drop of blue Loc-Tite.
