Best keychain multi-tool

Leathermans are my number 1 choice, I'd say go get a squirt ps4. BUT, there are nice choices like the Gerber Dime and Gerber Shard. These are also cheaper, the Dime's pretty much 1/2 the price of a PS4, but they had approximately the same tools, if not exactly the same. And the Gerber Shard is a $5 multitool that is TSA Legal.

Conclusion: If you don't mind something inexpensive, go get one of 'em Gerber Dimes/Shards. They've worked well for me in the past year, and added up, they are still cheaper than a PS4.

You know, Carl, the funny thing is that since I sent you my Squirt PS4, I have picked up a Squirt P4 (no "S") in soft gray, no less — and I find I like it more than the old PS4. It just feels smoother and more pleasant in the hand. (Also, it's a used model, stolen by TSA thugs and eventually coughed up on the 'Bay, so perhaps the usedness is relevant: it's broken in a bit.)

Anyway, I like it. But of course, it has no scissors (that "P" only, no "PS"). So what to do?

Easy — just carry the old Vic Classic in addition! So now I'm three-fold: Camillus Engineer knife, Vic Classic, and Squirt P4. At least for now. We'll see how all this hardware works out.

That's one heck of a three of a kind!!!!:thumb up:

I can't imagine with that trio that there is not much in the way of life's little problems that can't handled. Wide array of tools and cutting ability!

Yep, I really like my Gerber Shard. I carry a Gerber Shard and a Leatherman Brewzer when I fly - the Shard is ten times better. IMO it is the most useful thing Gerber makes!

Thanks, Carl — sure hope they cover the problems! I'm primarily a blade guy, and I doubt that'll change. But I'm already on board with the idea of an MT — it's just tricky finding one that actually fits into my needs.

Anyway, for the OP: keep your mind open about bygone models from Leatherman.
