Best Kitchen Knives Under $100

If you can find them, the ESEE/Becker Signature Cooking Knives were an outstanding value at $49.95. They listed at $149.00 MSRP, sold by many at about $90.00, but Knifeworks had them at $49.95 all year long. They are discontinued now, but a cursory search of the web revealed they're still available at a number of web retailers.

I just want to echo this recommendation for anyone coming to this thread later. If you can still find the ESEE/Becker knife set for $50, they are awesome. I bought a set for myself and one for my father last year, and both of us have loved them.

Mac Non-stick line. Great Mac steel that is easy to sharpen and if your geometry is forgiving will keep a keen edge for a very long time. They are super-thin and light knives that are a joy to use. I miss the bolster for ease of cleaning but it does keep it very light. The non-stick coating greatly reduces sticking, and the black colour may appeal to some. Certainly it looks unique.

Haven't you heard? The Misen knife is the ultimate kitchen knife!!!!!!:D
