Best knife for 35$ or less.

Thanks for the replies. Really appreciate it. What do you guys think about the Benchmade Mini Ambush? Is the Rolling Lock almost like an Axis Lock? Thanks again.

I found a few Benchmade monochromes at a gun show for 25$. I like mine more then I thought I would. 25$ is a great price but even 35$-40$ is not bad.

Can we get a sticky for these sort of questions? Just a simple "Best Knives for the Money" title, and then a list of the best knives starting at $10, then $20, then $30, then $40, etc. on up to $100?

I would second this

I love the Native, and I love SAKs, but I still think two of the best deals going right now are the Boker Trance and the Boker Subcom (or Wharcom). They both represent a lot of knife for the money.

I'm very impressed after a week or so with my Trance and with the BM mini-Grip I picked up at the same time. I actually think I like the way the Trance closes more than I do the mini Grip actually. The Trance will probably be my preferred "EDC" (adopting the terminology used around here already!). Oh, and I am already looking for more knives to try out!

Second vote for Featherlite, right at $35.

There was a "best knife for the money" chart some time back, with lists of knives at each price break.

Browning Ice Storm (made by Mcusta) sells on ebay somewhere in that neighborhood.

I also got a couple factory second Ontario Rat-3 knives for $20 each. You've got to pick them up in person though.

I'm very curious, how did you make this happen?

I emailed them after reading a thread about factory seconds being offered in their store which is about an hour south of Buffalo NY. They let me know what they had, but said that they couldn't mail them out. Store only. I was in the area and swooped in and grabbed a couple. They had the "RAT 3" label printed partially under the handle scales and couldn't sell them through their dealers. I've used one of them a lot and I believe that it isn't a second because of bad heat treat or any other structural problem, just cosmetic. If anyone lives near there I suggest dropping in. Who knows what they'll have.

Here's a couple ways to contact them:

Good luck!

Bokerplus Trance/Subcomfolder/SubcomFixed......Kabar Dozier folder series....the majority of the Byrd line (Meadowlark, Cara Cara, Raven, for instance), Opinels?, Victorinox SAK's ....

Since the title is limited to $35 or less, I would say pick up one of the Byrd lines from spyderco.
